Our Story
Formed in summer 2013, The Striped Frogs was an outgrowth of a European-style cover band, Rock Berlin. Its members surveyed the current music scene in the Milwaukee area and sought to bring their varied experiences and passions to the fore. The result: Pop alternative with touches of indie, crunchy guitars, driving rhythms and an overall variety of sound that defies being boxed in.
Experiencing the band live is like jamming out with Weezer one song, Foo Fighters for another, and with mixes of 311, REM and Oasis thrown in for a good time. The lyrics are pulled from life experiences (minus the 20-something-year-old angst), while the beats, chord structures and feel are solidly rock with tastes of funk, hip hop, metal and even reggae sprinkled throughout.
The Striped Frogs spent the past year writing and currently have about a dozen songs ready for prime time. As they finish recording and mixing the rest of their current catalog, the band is gigging and building their fan base. Look for the first CD release late spring 2016.
